Hi Music Lovers,
Greetings from the house of RagaSudha. Continuing with our innovations
in developing apps to aid learning of Indian Classical Music, we now have
developed “RagaSudha Pro” – app on
the iOS platform to help even novice students play 950+ ragas without hitting a wrong note. This in no way
replaces a teacher but is an aid, that will help students learn many ragas and
experiment with them for your review. They can also record/ play and share with you for your evaluation. There is also
a composition database of more than 5700
kritis with composer and raga names for their reference. Students can
compare ragas before they download them. The Tala app – Talasangati that we had
developed earlier has been fully integrated with RagaSudha Pro or one can still
download Talasangati independently. Tala Sangati has
Seven Karnatic talas (Dhruva, Matya,Rupaka, Jhampa,Triputa, Ata, Eka) with innovative hand
gestures in Five Jatis (Tisra,Chatusra,
Khanda,Misra,Sankeerna)
and
Eleven Hindustani tals with bol (Eka,Jap,Dadra,Khemta,Rupak,Teen,Kaherwa,Dhamar,Chautal,
Adachautal, Jhumra)
and
a simple Metronome with tempo control. This faithful timekeeper will make
sure they do not cross the boundaries/ confines of the tala.
We humbly suggest that RagaSudha Pro and TalaSangati be used
by your students to enhance their learning experience.
TalaSangati continues
to be available separately on Appstore (for iOS) http://Appstore.com/talasangatirhythmtempotogo
I would greatly
appreciate if you can download these apps, explore what it can do and let me
know your views about the utility of such an app to aid students. The Android
version is getting ready as well.
I seek your help in improving this app to help your
students. Please write to us at Ragasudha101@gmail.com
Enjoy playing,
Raman
